What We Are About.
Welcome to Stone Strength Systems. I am overjoyed that you have found your way to our website and hope that what you learn here brings you in to fully experience what we have to offer.
The name of the facility is Stone Strength Systems, and we stay true to our name. Our priority is building stronger people, mentally and physically.
No matter your goals, prioritizing strength gains will accelerate your success.
If you want to be a better athlete, get stronger. Strength is systemic and the more available strength your body possesses, the more efficiently you will move, the harder you can throw, the harder you can hit.
Want to lose weight and fat? Get stronger. Building muscle will drive your metabolism up (and keep it up longer than steady state cardio but we will talk more about that in another post) and help you reach your weight and body fat goals.
Just want to be healthy and look good in a swimsuit? Muscle mass is the number one predictor of longevity for humans. (Don’t believe me? Read this from the Scientific American here) As famed strength coach Mark Rippetoe so eloquently puts it,
“There is no such thing as firming and toning-only stronger and weaker.”
If you want to make anything tighter, more shapely, or firm, you have to build muscle.
“But Brad, I don’t want to get huge!”
Getting big is tough, even for guys in their prime. To be huge requires huge investments not only in time in the gym specifically training for that goal, but in money for food and supplements to help you achieve those kinds of gains. If bodybuilding is the goal, we can accomplish it, but that’s not core program here at Stone Strength Systems.
For women, here is a little science for you. On average, women have 5-10% of the available testosterone that men have. Testosterone is the hormone primarily responsible for muscle building. Chemically speaking, you are not capable of naturally getting that big. Its just science so don’t be afraid of lifting heavy things.
One of my favorite quotes on this subject is this:
“The myth that women shouldn’t lift heavy is only perpetuated by women who fear work and men who fear women.”
There is no reason you shouldn’t get stronger.
Does that mean that you are going straight to 300# power cleans? Of course not.
Everything we do can be progressed and regressed depending on your fitness level and capabilities.
You may need to do assisted squats and start with bodyweight exercises, but following simple linear progression (getting a little better each time) we will eventually get you moving some weight, and before you know it you will be lifting things you never thought possible.
Ready to get started? Fill out the contact form and one of our strength coaches will setup your initial consultation and help you determine the program that will fit your needs the best.
We look forward to working with you and helping you become the strongest version of you possible!
